Things you need to know about custom tshirts.

 

 

There are 2 types of screen printing. Spot color printing and four color process printing. Spot colors are used for regular prints where specific colors are called out.  For example green, red, black.  Process colors are used for full color images, photographic images, etc. or if you are designing a multiple color design and your are not concerned with the color brilliance.

 

Spot color screen are the same price as 4 color process screens.  To figure out how many screens you need on spot color screen printing is easy.  You need one screen for every color you want printed for each design location.  For 4 colors process you will always need 4 screens with will be one for each of the four primary colors.

Sometime screen printers will charge for an extra screen on dark t-shirts so they can put a white under base on the custom t-shirts.  Very similar to a primer on a car.  Taylormadetshirts doesn’t charge for a white under base screen.

 

 

 

Factors to consider for pricing your custom tshirts.

 

 

There are number of factors to consider that go into the final cost of custom tshirts.

Here are a few of the more important ones.

1. What kind of garment or apparel do you want? 100% cotton or 50/50?
2. What color garments.  White tends to be cheaper.
3. How many colors will be incorporated in the design?
4. How many print positions do you want on the shirts?
5. How many do you want?  The more you order the cheaper they become.  Major Price breaks come at 36, 72, 144, 288, 540, and 1000.
6. The size of the garment too determine price.  As a rule of thumb add $1.25 for each size you go up from adult extra large.
